This renowned festival presented by The Korean Cultural Centre is now in it’s second year it goes on tour, collaborating with the world class Barbican where it kicks off tonight until 8th November, moving to the Warwick Art Centre from 9 – 11 November 2007 and concluding in Oxford from 12 – 14 November 2007.
The festival begins on 2 November with a special preview of Breath from the critically acclaimed director Kim Ki-duk. It then goes on to showcase some of the latest films to come from Korea in addition to screening two films from the classic era – Madame Freedom and My Mother and Her Guest. And it doesn’t stop there either – we close the London festival with a preview of Park Chan-wook’s latest I’m a Cyborg, but That's OK with a screen talk with Park Chan-wook himself. . Don’t miss the Park Chan-Wook Retrospective, featuring the brilliant I'm a Cyborg, But that's ok, his latest offering which sees him depart from his signature vengance themed trilogy that made him both a household name and a critical success.
The festival will also feature a medley of classic Korean films, such as the highly controversial Madame Freedom (directed by Hyeong-mo) to the most contemporary offerings including Breathe(Soom) (Directed by Kim Ki-duk), which opens the festival Tonight at the Barbican.
